Statement of Beliefs:
1. The Bible
The Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testament are the written Word of God. They are the full, final, and complete revelation of God to man. Holy men of God spoke and wrote under the direct inspiration of the Spirit of God. In this way God has given to man all that is needed for his salvation.
2. God
There is one, true and living God who reveals himself in three Divine Persons.
God, The Father has existed eternaly. Both a spirit and a person. He is absolute in nature. He is perfection and Holiness. He is creator of Heaven and Earth. He is Holy and righteous and worthy of our love.
God, The Eternal Son. Jesus Christ is the Word that has eternaly existed with The Father. He is the Christ, the Messiah. The Saviour of mankind. Concieved by the Holy Spirit. Born of the Virgin Mary. By taking on humanity he lived and experienced temptation as a man, yet did not sin. He suffered and died on the Cross for our sins. He was raised from the dead and ascended into Heaven. He will come again in glory.
God, The Holy Spirit, inspired the writers of Scripture. He convicts humans of thier sin. He renews and tranforms those who believe. He is the giver of spiritual gifts to the church. He restrains the world, the flesh, and the devil.
3. Satan the Devil
Satan is an actual spirit being who is the chief adversary of God and the children of God. He once enjoyed high heavenly honors but through pride, ambition, and self will he betrayed God. Satan operates today as the god of this world, but only for a specific time. He is the father of all lies and has decieved humanity into rejecting God and His law. He is aided by a host of demons and is a relentless accuser of the saints of God.
4. Creation
God personaly created all things. The Holy Scripture are the authentic account of this act. Matter was formed out of nothing, and in six days the Lord made the heaven and the earth and all that was in them. On the seventh day He rested from His work and instituted the Sabbath as a memorial of His creation.
5. Humanity and the Nature of Man
Man and woman were created in the image of God. Formed of flesh and given life directly from God. Endowed by God with individuality and free will. Our first parents were given a choice. Eternal life through obedience to God, or death through sin. Adam and Eve gave in to temptation and as a result sin entered the world.
6. God's Law
Sin is the trangression of God's Law. The Law is perfect,Holy, just and good. The principles of this Law are found in the Ten Commandments. And the Law is personified in the life of Jesus Christ. Breaking any one point of this Law will bring about the penalty of sin. The Law expresses God's love, His will, and purpose concerning the conduct of humans. It is binding on all people in all ages.
7. The Blood Attonment
The sinner is guilty and because of this guilt he is condemned to die. The attonement for sin was effected by the Son, Jesus Christ, who freely took on our human nature. He was obedient during His earthly walk and honored the Divine Law. Through His death on the cross he satisfied the penalty for the trangression of the Law by suffering in our place. He died bearing our sins on His body and through the shedding of His blood He made provision for peace and pardon.
8. Repentance and Salvation
Those who truly repent of their sins and who by faith accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour are forgiven of their sins by an act of divine grace. At this time they become justified, pardoned from the penalty of death and recieve the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Through this Spirit we are born again and sanctified. We become partakers of the divine nature and have the blessed assurance of salvation.
9. Baptism
Baptism is one of the ordinances , set in place by the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism should be by immersion in water. By baptism we confess our faith in the death and ressurection of Jesus Christ. And we symbolize our death to sin and our new life in Christ. Baptism is contingent on affirmation of faith in Jesus. Through the laying on of hand, and prayer, the believer recieves the Holy Spirit and becomes a part of the body of Christ
10. The Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper is the other ordinance set up by Jesus. Set up in place of the Old Testament Passover. In it we participate in the body and blood of Jesus Christ through the symbols of bread (the body) and wine (the blood). In this communion Christ is actualy present and real. As we partake we joyfully proclaim the Lord's death until He comes again. The Lord's Supper is celebrated once a year on the day of the Jewish Passover. It is open only to baptised believers.
11. The Sabbath Day
The seventh day of the week is the Sabbath of the Lord. After the six days of creation, God rested on the seventh day and instituted the Sabbath as a memorial of His wonderful creation. We are commanded to rest from our labors and worship the Lord.
12. The Church
The church is the group of believers who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We come together for worship, instruction in God's Word, and celebrating the Lord's Supper. The mission of the church is to preach the Gospel of the comming Kingdom of God to all nations. The church is also the Body of Christ. A body of faith of which Christ is the head.
13. The Gifts of the Spirit.
All true believers in Christ recieve the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts provide all the abilities and ministries needed by the church to fulfill its mission. When these gifts are employed in a Christlike fashion the church is protected from the destructive influence of false doctrine.
14. The Second Comming of Jesus Christ
The Lord, Jesus Christ, will return. This has been the hope of the church. His return is literal, visible. When He returns , the righteous dead will be ressurected and along with the righteous living they will be glorified and be taken to heaven.
15. The Second Ressurection
In the second ressurection those who have rejected Christ will be raised from the grave to be judged along with Satan and his minions. Fire from God will consume them and the universe will be free from sin forever.
