My Testimony by Richard Arrigoni

I was brought up in the Catholic Church so I understood
the concepts of Jesus. I had read the Bible before but
the priests emphasized the allegorical sense of Scripture.
The church itself seemed kind of stodgy and boring. And
the repetition of the ritual, at least to my young mind
was not inspirational at all. So basicly I was religious,
but the religion didn't have a fire to it.

For the first 19 years of my life I had never met a Born Again
Christian. The Jehovah's Witnesses that popped up at the door on occaision
and my Lutheran friends were my only knowledge of something
outside the Catholic Church.Then I got a job at a convenience
store. God started calling me at this time. First there were two
men who worked at a nearby factory. They asked me "Do you know Jesus
Christ as your personal Saviour?". I stammered and stuttered. Every day
that I saw them they told me more about Jesus. They brought me tracts.
They put up a great witness. Then right about this same time a
local police officer came in. We got to know each other a bit and then one
day he asked "Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour?"
At this time I began to think that God was chasing me. Everywhere I turned now
I would find tracts. People would witness to me. They were everywhere .I was under
attack, so it seemed. Next, about a year after all this began to
happen the store where I worked changed ownership. The new owner
had a son about my age, so that was pretty cool. Guess what? Yep...Born
Again..I was surrounded. So I began to listen to what these people
were saying. I began to study the Bible and go to church more. I gave
my life to the Lord in 1981.
